The Switch Assessment Kit is a comprehensive selection of popular switches available for people with special needs. The Kit contains 20 switches plus accessories that can be used during assessment of an individual for switch use. In collaboration with therapists throughout Ireland the contents of the kit have been carefully chosen to address the needs of a wide and varied group of switch users.

A Valuable Resource
The kit is for therapists, technicians, teachers and others who wish to use switches with one or more individuals. It is intended to be used as a resource so that a large number of switches can be evaluated with a user in order that the correct selection can be made.

Activities and exercises all in one box
In order to evaluate a switch it has to be connected to something so that when it is pressed something happens! For this reason the kit includes a BigMack to which you can connect any of the switches in the kit. You can…

Evaluate a comprehensive range of switches of different size, pressure, feel and feedback
Record speech or music and play it back using the BigMack

PikoButton are control switches, designed to be very durable but still easy and pleasant to use. Because of PikoButtons´ sensitivity they are suitable for controlling the environment control systems, communication devices, assistant alarms, etc. The activation force of the buttons is very small, only 75 grams for the smaller and 125 grams for the bigger. The same activation force can be used at the edge of the switch. PikoButtons are available in several colours which allows them to be used in several different combinations.

Available in Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, Orange, Black, White, Gold, Silver,Transparent colours and in two sizes, 50mm or 30mm diameter.

Cordless Alarm

Whilst not strictly an environmental control transmitter the cordless remote bleeper is a useful aid for independent living. By pressing a button on a portable transmitter a carer or parent who is nearby can be “paged”. It is ideal for homes, schools or centres where a person needs to be able to alert a carer when they are in difficulty. The transmitter can also be operated by an external switch if the person cannot press the button on the unit itself.

The Self-Calibrating Auditory Tone Infrared (SCATIR) Switch is a momentary-contact optical switch with auditory feedback that works by detecting a beam of reflected pulsed infrared light. The SCATIR Switch can be controlled with an eye-blink, eyebrow movement, finger movement, head movement, and facial muscle movement.
