If you already installed ClickToPhone and its version is 22 or less you will have to fully remove it before installing this new version (you may have to disable ClickToPhone as a Device Administrator if you enabled the Sleep option).

ClickToPhone enables a person to access their mobile phone through an external switch or by tapping anywhere on the screen. This new Accessibility Software includes lots of features such as:

Ability to wake up the phone and answer a call using an external switch.
Ability to phone contacts and receive calls.

Ability to receive and view SMS text messages.
Ability to speak out text messages using Android Text-to-speech.
Word prediction and Word anticipation when composing text.

Improvments to auditory scanning
When configuring HouseMate labels are centred in cells when no icons are selected

You can download the APK files below. Before you install the App you must make the following setting on your phone.

Within Settings/Applications check the “Unknown Sources” option.

After you have downloaded the software, if the installation does not start automatically, then choose Menu->Downloads within your Browser and install ClickToPhone manually.

If you are using an external switch you will need to pair your phone with the ClickToPhone or HouseMate hardware before you run the ClickToPhone software.

Within Settings\Wireless & networks\Bluetooth settings choose ‘Scan for devices’
Turn on the hardware by pressing the switch connected to it.
When you see the name of the hardware (ClickToPhoneV2 or HouseMate) select it with a long press and then choose ‘Pair & connect’.
Enter ‘1234′ as the PIN code and choose OK.
In the list of bluetooth devices it should say ‘Paired but not connected’ beneath the device name.
Quit settings

After you have paired your phone and installed the software you need to choose ClickToPhone as the input method.

Within Settings\Language & Keyboard check the “ClickToPhone” option. (On Samsung phones ‘Language & Keyboard’ is ‘Locale & Text’).
Go to the home page and make a long press on an empty part of the screen. Choose Shortcut from the Personalise window and then choose ClickToPhone. Now you can launch ClickToPhone by clicking on the shortcut and then choosing ClickToPhone as the Input Method.
Alternatively, choose any text entry field and hold your finger on it until you see the “Edit text” dialog. Choose “Input Method” and then choose the “ClickToPhone” option.

The ClickToPhone application should launch and will go through a series of initialisation steps. The first of these is the creation of the word prediction file for the first time. Wait until this is finsihed. Then choose “Preferences” from the menu and choose your User Level. If you enable the “HouseMate” option, then, when you choose HouseMate from the menu for the first time it will initialise the grids. From the Homepage menu choose “Connect” if you want to use an external switch. Then press your switch and it should complete the connection.

You will only have to go through the above steps once. After that ClickToPhone is set as the input method for the phone – even after you turn it off. ClickToPhone is not a standard application and it is not listed in the phones application list. It is a service and can only be accessed through the Input Method dialog or Settings\Language & Keyboard.

If you want to quit ClickToPhone you have to select a different inupt method. You do this as above or by selecting the Input Method option from the ClickToPhone homepage menu.

On most phones it is neccessary to disable the power save options. This is because the power save option disables the bluetooth connection when the battery is low and sometimes when the phone is not being used. When the bluetooth connection is disabled it is not possible for the ClickToPhone software to connect to the external hardware.

If you want to reset the ClickToPhone settings, first quit the program by deselecting it as the current input method. Then choose Settings->Applications->ClickToPhone->Clear Data.

If you want to uninstall ClickToPhone you may have to disable it as a device adminstrator beforehand. Choose Settings->Security->Select device administrators->ClickToPhone. Then shoose Settings->Applications->Manage Applications->ClickToPhone->Uninstall.
